Obsteig stretches across the western part of the Mieminger Plateau. Located on this sunny terrace above the Inn Valley, the village lies at the foot of the Mieminger Mountains. At an altitude of just under 1,000 m, Obsteig is nestled in pristine and harmonious alpine nature, far from holiday crowds and stress. The village is about 40 km from the state capital Innsbruck and is well-known among hikers and mountain sports enthusiasts. Within the municipality lies Burg Klamm, with its waterfall, which can be reached via a scenic hike.

During hikes across the green meadows of the Mieminger Plateau, the proud mountain peaks capture your gaze, offering stunning panoramas on various mountain tours. A pleasant hike leads into the Obsteig protected landscape area, characterized by a mix of larch meadows and cultivated landscapes. For more active days, mountain biking or hut hikes can take you to Lehnberghaus, which also serves as a starting point for additional summit tours.

For golfers, the nearby Golfpark Mieminger Plateau offers spectacular panoramic views. Two courses, 18 and 9 holes respectively, provide a special golfing experience, complemented by high-quality local cuisine in Obsteig and the surrounding area.

Even in winter, Obsteig is bathed in sunshine and offers breathtaking mountain views. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the well-groomed trails, while the Grünberg ski lifts are ideal for families and beginners. Grünberg also serves as a good starting point for exciting ski tours.
