Alpbach
A warm welcome to the most beautiful village in Austria! The municipality of Alpbach has earned this title not least through its gentle and sustainable approach to tourism. Situated at an altitude of just under 1,000 meters, Alpbach lies on a sunny plateau within the charming Alpbachtal valley, surrounded by the Kitzbühel Alps. The village is located a few kilometers south of Kufstein in the upper Alpbachtal, with the district of Inneralpbach marking the end of the valley. During the snowy season, the Kitzbühel Alps attract visitors to Alpbach with a wide range of winter sports opportunities, while in summer the region transforms into a paradise of alpine pastures and hiking trails.
Alpbach is located right at the foot of the Wiedersberger Horn and therefore directly connected to the Alpbachtal ski area. This award-winning ski area offers 54 kilometers of slopes of all difficulty levels. From gentle runs for a relaxed family ski day to more challenging descents full of action, the variety is what makes this resort so appealing. Snowboarders especially look forward to the Alpbachtal Snowpark. The lifts into the ski area start right on the edge of the village. A special highlight is the regularly आयोजित night skiing. Close to the valley, you’ll also find après-ski options, practice slopes, a ski school for children, and plenty of opportunities for winter activities beyond the slopes. In and around Alpbach, as well as throughout the entire Alpbachtal, there is an extensive network of cross-country trails totaling around 100 kilometers. Whether sporty skating or leisurely գլiding, cross-country skiing in the sunny, snow-covered Tyrolean winter landscape is always a special holiday experience. Tobogganing enthusiasts will enjoy the run from the Faulbaumgartenalm in Inneralpbach—the toboggan track in Alpbach is even illuminated! Ice skating is also possible in Alpbach during winter.
In summer, the Alpbachtal mountain lifts operate as well, taking visitors up to the most beautiful hiking and alpine pasture areas in the region. In Alpbach itself, this includes the Wiedersbergerhorn cable car, complete with an adventure playground at the top station. Hiking in Alpbach comes in many forms—leisurely walks, challenging summit tours, or informative themed trails. One popular route leads around the Gratlspitze from Alpbach to the Bischoferalm, where you can stop for a well-earned break. And wherever there is hiking, there is also space for cycling and mountain biking. For example, the panoramic tour can be started directly from Alpbach.
