The tranquil West Tyrolean village of Bach is located in the upper Lechtal valley at the entrance to the Madautal side valley. The Madautal stretches into the Lechtaler Alpen, which rise south of Bach, while the Allgäuer Alpen form the magnificent landscape backdrop to the north. At an elevation of over 1,000 meters, Bach is an ideal holiday destination for active and leisurely summer and winter vacations. For those seeking more extensive skiing, the nearby Warth‑Schröcken and Ski Arlberg region offers much larger terrain and advanced slopes as part of Austria’s largest connected ski area. 
Cross‑country skiers also enjoy well‑groomed trails through the Lechtal, and winter walkers can explore scenic routes — including snowshoe hikes — in the pristine landscape of the nature park. Evening tobogganing in Bach is even illuminated in places.

When the snow melts, Bach remains just as appealing. The Lechtaler and Allgäuer Alps invite you to explore extensive alpine pasture hikes across lush green meadows or more challenging summit tours. A particularly scenic trek is the Madauer Höhenweg, which also allows you to walk through the Madauer Gorge starting from Bach. In summer, the nearby river Lech draws rafting enthusiasts, and the local outdoor pool (Freibad Oberlechtal) is one of the largest in the region.
