At the foot of the Hohe Munde in the beautiful Leutasch Valley lies the village of Leutasch. This high valley stretches between the Mieming Mountains to the south and the Wetterstein range to the north. Located about 25 kilometers northwest of Innsbruck in northern Tyrol, Leutasch is just a few kilometers from the Bavarian border. The highest peak within the municipality is the striking Hochwanner, which is also the second-highest mountain in Germany.

A holiday in Leutasch means active enjoyment all year round. In winter, the extensive network of cross-country ski trails is the main attraction. In the Seefeld-Leutasch region, more than 250 kilometers of trails are available. The nearby Gaistal Valley is a true winter paradise, especially for cross-country skiing and winter hiking. Alpine skiing is available at the Kreithlift in the Waidach district, where around 10 kilometers of slopes in the family-friendly Katzenkopf (Kreithalm) ski area ensure relaxed and enjoyable skiing. A special highlight is the regular night skiing. Ice skating, snowshoe hiking, and tobogganing also make a winter holiday in Leutasch a wonderful experience for the whole family.

In summer, the Gaistal Valley becomes a paradise of alpine pastures and hiking trails. Numerous huts and mountain inns can be reached on foot from Leutasch. The opportunities for hiking and summit tours are almost endless. Surrounded by lush meadows and breathtaking scenery, visitors can enjoy traditional Tyrolean specialties at the alpine huts. The Leutasch Valley is also very popular among cyclists and mountain bikers.

A sustainable and memorable experience for the whole family is a visit to the Leutasch Spirit Gorge (Geisterklamm). Another cultural highlight is the Ganghofer Museum. The writer Ludwig Ganghofer once had a hunting lodge in the Gaistal, and this alpine hunting tradition remains part of the region’s cultural heritage to this day.
