Mieming

The municipality of Mieming stretches across the green meadows of the Mieming Plateau. This sunny terrace between the Upper Inn Valley and the Mieming Mountains lies about 35 kilometers west of Innsbruck and is a highly valued destination thanks to its favorable climate and scenic setting. At its western end lies the Mieming Plateau landscape conservation area, known for its characteristic mix of larch meadows and cultivated alpine landscape.

Thanks to its fantastic scenery, Mieming is particularly popular with hikers in summer. The combination of the gentle plateau landscape and the rugged rock faces of the Mieming Mountains creates a hiking and mountain sports paradise with something for every level. Leisurely walks can be enjoyed along themed and nature trails, while a popular mountain tour leads to the Hohe Munde, the easternmost peak of the range. The striking mountains around Mieming are also highly valued by climbers, offering both via ferratas and challenging climbing routes.

Teeing off with a panoramic view — this is what awaits visitors at the Mieming Plateau Golf Park. Set against a spectacular backdrop, the two courses (18-hole and 9-hole) provide a truly special golfing experience. For a refreshing break in summer, the Mieming bathing lake with its beach area is also a popular attraction.

Mieming also enjoys plenty of sunshine in winter. With sparkling snow and stunning mountain views, the plateau attracts cross-country skiers to its well-groomed trails, which wind through snowy meadows and forests. When conditions allow, the local bathing lake freezes over and turns into a picturesque natural ice rink, also ideal for curling. A nearby ski area can be found at the Gschwandtkopf in Seefeld, about 20 kilometers from Mieming.
