Welcome to the Oberes Gericht! This is not the name of a local courthouse, but a unique region in the western Upper Inn Valley. Nestled within this valley is the municipality of Ried, just a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Kaunertal. Ried im Oberinntal lies between the Samnaun Alps to the west and the Glockturmkamm to the east. It is about an hour’s drive from the state capital, Innsbruck.

The Ried-Prutz-Fendels ski area is perfect for families and beginners, right in the village. A few kilometers away, the Kaunertal Glacier provides reliable snow conditions. Cross-country skiers can access trails stretching from the Kaunertal all the way to the Swiss Engadin, offering endless possibilities for winter sports enthusiasts.
